Vanderbilt University School of Nursing has a long-standing reputation for excellence in nursing education, practice, informatics, and research. The school offers an MSN degree in Nursing Informatics, Nurse-Midwifery and 10 different nurse practitioner specialties. VUSN also offers Post-Master’s Certificates in 13 specialties, a Master of Nursing degree, and DNP and PhD programs.
VUSN’s Nursing Informatics program is designed for working nurses who want a strong foundation in informatics science, innovation and business tools for health care. Its job-relevant curriculum includes current and emerging data analysis tools, project management, decision support, consumer and population health, mobile technologies, telehealth, evidence-based practice, big data and more. Noted doctorally prepared faculty with real-world experience help students achieve their career goals. Affiliation with the nationally recognized Department of Biomedical Informatics at Vanderbilt University Medical Center provides additional resources to our students. A customized practicum experience satisfies national certification exam requirements, and personalized mentoring from expert faculty makes this program one of the best.

VUSN’s MSN program in Nursing Informatics is a part-time program for registered nurses with a minimum of two years’ experience. It is offered in a modified online learning that allows students to attend graduate school without having to relocate or give up employment. Limited on-campus sessions may be required.
