Mission Statement

The purpose of ANIA is to advance nursing informatics through education, research, and practice in all roles and settings.

Education

Goal: ANIA will provide quality informatics nursing educational opportunities.

Strategies:

  1. Deliver innovative, relevant, and meaningful education using a variety of venues and delivery methods
  2. Provide value to our members with Nursing Continuing Professional Development (NCPD) opportunities

Tactics:

  1. Utilize member feedback, industry trends, and committee input when developing educational offerings
  2. Support member attendance at conference through scholarship opportunities
  3. Provide contact hours for qualified educational activities
  4. Offer at least ten live and on-demand webinars annually
  5. Support ANIA Chapter educational activities
  6. Collaborate with other professional organizations to provide informatics education

Research

Goal: ANIA will support and share innovative informatics nursing research and evidence-based practice (EBP).

Strategies:

  1. Identify, foster and promote research and EBP
  2. Disseminate research and EBP

Tactics:

  1. Identify and promote research and EBP sharing through a variety of modalities
  2. Mentor members in the scholarly sharing of informatics knowledge
  3. Support the research and EBP of the Informatics community

Practice

Goal: ANIA will advance informatics nursing practice through professional activities.

Strategies:

  1. Monitor initiatives to promptly identify and address key issues influencing informatics nursing
  2. Collaborate with nursing, informatics, and healthcare communities regarding policy
  3. Provide leadership and development opportunities for ANIA members

Tactics:

  1. Utilize a task force of volunteers to interpret and respond to informatics related issues as needed
  2. Provide mentoring resources to members
  3. Communicate regulatory and policy issues to members
  4. Facilitate methodologies for members to provide feedback on regulatory and policy issues
